Public Engagement

“The Jasper County Comprehensive Plan was developed with a robust public engagement process designed to reach all constituencies among county residents and businesses.”

Project Review Committee

The Comprehensive Plan Review Committee (CPRC) was appointed by the Jasper County Board of Supervisors. The CPRC is comprised of key County staff, local stakeholders and community leaders, with representation from the cities and villages throughout the County. Members represent different areas of interest and expertise.  This committee provided feedback on the public engagement plan and the draft plan.

Focus Groups

Some priorities for the county plan included: engaging county staff to gather their first-hand knowledge of issues affecting local government operations, coordinating with incorporated areas to ensure a shared vision of growth, promoting economic development, and planning for the future of agriculture as part of the county‚Äôs identity and important economic resource.

Community Events

Throughout the summer of 2019, county staff and the consultant team attended special events to spread the word about the comprehensive plan and gather feedback on what topics are most important to residents.  Attendees were asked to prioritize 10 topics facing the county by dropping five marbles into jars associated with each topic.
